Why Idol industry is the most toxic in japan :

The West caught up to them, ever since Idol Vtubers became a thing. Just a couple of days ago a Nijisanji member hosted a Boyfriend-girlfriend bullshit roleplay stream, and another talent from the same agency showed up too. The latter got literally blasted with hate comments, spam, all sorts of allegations/accusations etc etc. Ala' How could you interrupt our date with X?'' ''What's your relationship with X?'' ''This is betrayal'' ''Something is going on''. This was the English branch btw. At this point I don't think it's even a cultural JPN Idol thing, but just weird loners being weird. That's global hahaha

Japanese idol culture is still a huge problem in general. The entire industry is pretty fucked up, and numerous vtubers and former idols have talked about it.And many japanese people know this, but the fans of the industry are much more likely to be in an echo chamber and not believe the legitimate criticisms. Idol/vtuber fans IN japan have to start demanding changes if they want stuff like this to stop happening.

Often enough the majority of ans either decide to be supportive or move elsewhere but unfortunately the crazies can be very vocal and sometimes their harassment either doesn't stop at saying mean things online or they start exposing personal information, which then causes a lot of stress for the individual and may cause them to stop doing their thing. Thankfully VTubers have their personal models and accounts they use when not doing stuff related to their company so there's a possibility for them to come back under a different name and the good portion of their fan-base is still three to welcome them, but plenty of people who suffer such harassment or get their personal details exposed do not return. Such a shame that something can be ruined for everyone by those of us who decide that our weird loner attributes somehow mean we are entitled to the time of another as if it was a commodity we own.

have a chance with actual real people. Wild. Though I only have that
context with youtubers and maybe streamers. Idk how accurate the
toxicity in this episode is in regards to idol culture. What I've heard
prior certainly makes that seem likely, but I've never interacted with
those fans. Or much of idols in general. I've only even seen the OG love live! I dropped the new gen ones.

That bit of the episode where the 4 bullies talk to the 2 guys... They (complete strangers - at best, just classmates) trust them and believe that the guys wouldn't do "it" (something completely unrelated to them). I couldn't help but add that in my head to what they were saying.
I hate to think real people can be that delusional - thinking someone they barely know somehow owes them anything or could betray them... but I also know that some crazies actually are like that.

Love the scene where Juri let Aizo and Yujiro diffused the situation in the classroom. She really knows that they should clear the misunderstanding themselves. The stalkers and fans are just annoying. It's not really their place to dictate how the idols befriend whom. Yeah. I know Japanese fans are crazy but still..

i don't get fan girl logic. they call idols who got girlfriend, a "betrayal"!? what is wrong with them, as if they get a chance if that idol remained single?

It's, in general, a psychological thing. The fan can feel like he or she is growing closer to their idol, bc they are watching & following them very closely. They are investing time & feelings into this one-sided relationship and for some the lines regarding this isolated form of affection start to blur. They think their idol is or must be aware of their devotion. They can feel like mentally that person is partially theirs. My idol performs for ME.

But the rumor or fact that your idol has a person they love puts an insurmountable wrench in their delusion. Reality can't be overcome, no matter how hard you fantasize otherwise. It makes clear your idol wasn't aware of you at all.

But this anime makes it seem like every girl in school has the same exact taste in boys and are this mentally self-absorbed about their affection for the LipxLip duo. Then again, having your idols within physical range is definitily an ingredient that would drastically change this psychological jigsaw puzzle.

No idea. That seems like a sickness exclusive to anime. It would depend on the temperament of the person. If they're a volatile person, then perhaps. If they're passive, then they'll get depressed and wallow in self-pity. Etc.

not for me,well like for example BTS i think am their fan not an army, because i sometimes don't understand their feeling or emotions,like i get it they probably think they are everybody's property and cannot belong to one person but first of all they are not a property 2 they are not urs 3 they are humans who have emotions and feelings 4 they don't understand that by doing dat they are hurting the feelings of the idol they love so 5 i think wat that part of fans or the toxic fans( bc not all the fans are like dat)have is an obsession they are obsessed with their idol

Our tsundere boys were the first ones to ask Hiyori about the results. Nice one, guys. How can Hiyori be so cute even while eating? That should be illegal! She is illegally cute. It was nice to see the boys becoming a real part of the class - I mean playing basketball with the classmates and so. I'm also happy for them, because they will attend the Countdown Live (not that it wasn't expected).

Man the stalker characters are getting out of hand, they are everywhere. Like screw you all - trying to ruin other people's lives. Like literally fuck the one who did that. And screw everyone who is spreading lies and is bullying Hiyori. Damn good job Juri for standing up for Hiyori and destroying the photos. I'm glad to see that not everyone is on the "I'm jealous of Hiyori, so I hate her now" train.

Damn things got really depressing in this episode. I wonder what's gonna happen now. But one thing is sure - Hiyori and neither the boys deserve this.

I watched the scenes again where the friend with the glasses takes out her phone to record the guys playing basketball and the stalker takes the high five pic. It does look like the same white-ish phone with the pink band around it.
It's already pretty heavily implied that she's that super fan that sends even the staff gifts after the shows but I didn't think she was malicious like that.
Honestly I hope the phone resemblance is a coincidence.

I'm guessing the girl that was at the door of the classroom watching is the one responsible for the photos, it's sad how there's not much Hiyori can do to clear up the misunderstanding because of how widely it's been spread, even if she reveals that she's their manager it'll just give a different reason for them to bully her because she'll have the privilege to be close with the two and the girls won't like that as they don't want anyone but themselves to be close with them.

It was nice to see the boys enjoy their school life a bit, although it was kind of funny how the guys that invited them were just decoration to the scene since they were competing between themselves.

I feel so bad for Hiyori. This is literally the worst thing that could have happened and her whole school life has turned into a nightmare.

This level of drama was to be expected. In Japan, fan girls can be frightening. Like in Korea, their idol culture is extremely toxic.

They can only announce her as the manager at this point, I get why they keep it a secret but now they have no choice. It's better than continue spreading the rumor of "secret girlfriend"
